Live Leaderboard Has Been A Popular Feature of Our Smartphone Scavenger Hunt

Update: As of July 25, 2017, the leaderboard function has been replaced by a news feed. Clients had been telling us that the teams at the bottom of the leaderboard were getting discouraged and would sometimes disengage from the program.  Also teams would already know at the end of the hunt who was the winner.  Learn more about our news feed feature here.

One of the newer features of our Scavenger Hunt Anywhere smartphone app is the addition of a live leaderboard. This adds to the excitement of the scavenger hunt because teams can see how they are doing relative to other teams and makes the hunt more fun and competitive.

Here is a screenshot of the app showing an example of the leaderboard.

Scavenger hunt enthusiasts may be interested to note that we had to make two changes to the leaderboard during its development.

Firstly, we had to delay leaderboard updates by 15 minutes otherwise teams for the able to check the leaderboard anytime they submit a task to determine whether they submitted it correctly or not.

Secondly, we had to shut the leaderboard off 15 minutes before the end of the scavenger hunt because otherwise teams would already know who won before the announcement of the scavenger hunt results.

But once made those changes the leaderboard became a favorite feature for many of our corporate scavenger hunt participants.
